Windows使用者不可能沒用過的軟體「小畫家」或許即將消失。歷經32年頭後，微軟已宣布，小畫家將在Windows 10 秋季創作者更新中被標記為「不建議使用」。
Windows1.0於1985年推出時，小畫家就是當時搭載在內的軟體之一，至今雖然比不上Photoshop、SAI等繪圖，但簡單方便的介面與操作讓所有用戶都能輕鬆上手，成為Windows系列代表的軟體之一。
雖然微軟近年來推出小畫家加強版「小畫家3D」，讓小畫家能夠處理3D效果，但評價並不好，後續也就沒繼續更新。
網友得知這項消息後感到惋惜，網友們都表示「小畫家擷取螢幕很好用」、「沒小畫家不習慣」、「跟自廢MSN一樣蠢」，不過也有網友說，從Win7開始附屬應用程式就有剪取工具能擷取螢幕，沒必要拘泥於小畫家。
